Home Renovation Presentation – Bathroom Renovation Overview



This renovation involves a full upgrade of the bathroom, including total demolition, a walk-in shower installation, new toilet and vanity setup, updated flooring, accessories, lighting, and paint. All finish materials supplied by client.

TILES

We recommend buying tiles in Special Tile stores. Check the quality of tiles before purchasing. Buy samples  (you can return it after)  -  check how you feel, how easy you can clean it if you stand on it, try  water, dirt on it. No Black Tiles for the floor.  Max  2 different types of tiles for the small bathroom.  Look for 24X24 -  most popular

PROJECT OVERVIEW


Shower

Shower System:

  • Modern square chrome shower system with shower head and hand shower.

Wall & Floor Tiling:

  • Tile from floor to ceiling.
  • Recommended wall tile sizes: 24"x24"
  • Shower floor: small mosaic tiles for better drainage.

Waterproofing & Substrate:

  • Use cement board (or DensShield, Schluter Kerdi-Board, Wedi Board) for shower walls.
  • Install Schluter system for the shower base.

Shower Wall & Features:

  • Build a back shower wall with a recessed niche. Pre-fabricated insert (image provided).
  • Central Wall: Install chrome handle bar.
  • Left Wall: Build bench seat/foot rest.
  • Drainage System: Move drain 3–4 inches toward center.
  • Square Shower Drain  or  linear drain with tile insert, hair strainer, and adjustable feet (brushed 304 stainless steel).
  • Water Barrier: 3-inch high tiled shower curb.
  • Shower Door: Frameless sliding glass door, 56–60" W x 76" H.


Toilet

Toilet Selection:

  • Elongated, chair-height bidet toilet combo.

Electrical Requirements:

  • Install new electrical outlet and switch for bidet.
  • Outlet must be GFCI-protected, 15-amp minimum.
  • Place outlet behind the toilet, ideally on the right side (facing the toilet), to accommodate standard bidet cord length (~4 ft).


Vanity

Vanity Unit:

  • 39" shaker-style vanity with legs (provided by client).

Installation Details:

  • Install quartz countertop and undermount sink (to be provided by client before work begins).
  • Right Side Niche: Close existing niche with drywall.
  • New Niche: Optional – Create a niche for recessed medicine cabinet (Not recommended; suggest a wall-mounted mirror instead).
  • Install new vanity light fixture above mirror.
  • Tiling Options:
  • Option 1: Tile backsplash area only  - front and right side of vanity

Floor

Tile:

  • 24"x24" light grey, matte finish tiles.

Ventilation:

  • Install Aria Flush Floor Vent (image provided).

Baseboards:

  • Option 1: Wood/MDF baseboards to match shaker cabinetry.

Accessories

Install chrome bathroom accessories (towel bar, robe hook, toilet paper holder, etc.).

Painting

Paint:

  • Walls and ceiling to be painted in Sherwin-Williams Pure White (SW 7005) — a well-balanced shade suitable for bathrooms.

Lighting:

  • Wall Lighting
